Facing rising tide of heroin overdoses, family and first responders welcome a new weapon

David's death was another grim notch for a state that is currently ranked 14th worst in the nation for heroin overdoses ­– an increase of 89 percent since 1999, according to Trust for America's Health, a D.C.-based non-profit.
