Report: Ky. among nation's fattest states

A report released today by the Trust for Americaís Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation said Kentucky ranks seventh in the nation for obesity, with 28.4 percent of residents considered dangerously overweight. Indiana didnít do much better, tying with Georgia for 11th place, with 27.5 percent, according to the report, ďF as in Fat: How Obesity Policies are Failing in America.Ē Although the study didn't look at residents who are carrying a few extra pounds, but who fall short of being obese. The latest figures from a U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention survey show Kentucky has the nationís highest rate of overweight adults -- 40.4 percent. It also has the nationís lowest rate of residents who are neither obese nor overweight.
