Scientists Say Tungsten Probably Isn't Behind Cancer

Results of tap water and urine tests in three Nevada communities indicate that tungsten probably isn't a direct cause of leukemia clusters, federal scientists said Monday. But both government scientists and an independent researcher said the test results don't rule out the metal as a possible co-factor in causing the Fallon leukemia outbreak that has sickened 16 children and killed three since 1997.
