Pa. lags in public health spending

But don't hold your breath for those kinds of results in Pennsylvania. When it comes to public heath funding, few states are so stingy, according to a report published Tuesday by Trust for America's Health, a non-profit research and advocacy group in Washington, D.C.

The trust ranked Pennsylvania 43rd in per-capita state public health funding. Its $14.4 per person was less than half of the 50-state median or $33.50, and was just 7 percent of top-spender Wester Virginia's $220.80.
