Editorial: Iowa fails to do enough to prevent injuries

The report, released by the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, graded states on 10 steps they could take to prevent accidental deaths. Iowa was among the four states receiving a failing grade for having taken only two of them. The report dinged Iowa for not requiring helmets for children on bicycles, booster seats for children under 8, and a device that prevents cars of convicted drunk drivers from starting if they’ve been drinking.
