Ebola’a Scary,but Focus on the Flu

EBOLA’S SCARY, BUT FOCUS ON THE FLU — Ebola may be exotic and scary, but the country needs to pay more attention to ongoing infectious diseases like flu, HIV/AIDS and food-borne illnesses, says the Trust for America’s Health in a new report. These conditions might not make headlines every day, but they sicken millions and cost billions of dollars. “When there is no major threat dominating our headlines, we start letting our guards down,” said Jeffrey Levi, the Trust's executive director.
