Superbugs thriving as antibiotics get overused and misued

More than 16,500 people died from painkiller overdoses nationwide in 2010, according to the CDC. Ohio has the 12th-highest mortality rate from prescription drug overdoses in the country, a rate that has more than quadrupled in the state over the past decade, according to a 2013 report from the nonprofit Trust for America’s Health.
