By December, many Texans mistakenly feel that it is too late to get vaccinated but in reality, December through February is the peak season for the flu in Texas and getting immunized now will offer several months of protection during this high risk period. As part of National Influenza Vaccination week, a wide array of Texas pharmacists, health care organizations and State Rep. Ryan Guillen (D- District 31), are making a push to educate people on the importance of receiving the flu vaccination. This outreach is geared towards all Texas residents and workers in an attempt to keep our state as healthy as possible.

"We're working to remind Texans of the importance of getting a flu shot, letting them know it's never too late for to get vaccinated," said State Representative Guillen. "This will hopefully increase our state's low seasonal flu vaccination rate, improve people's health and save our citizens money."
