Putting kids on a fitness path

After completing a one-mile run along the Rillito River path over the dinner hour last week, 11-year-old Elizabeth Estrella looked tired - and surprised - as she reached for her water bottle.
Breathing hard, she walked a little to cool down.
"I've never run that far," she said with a smile.
Elizabeth is one of 17 participants in the nonprofit Jr. El Tour, which trains children ages 11 to 14 to ride bicycles and rewards them with one of their own if they complete the program.
