R.I. ranks 4th in U.S. with 21.7% obese, but kids are doing worse

PROVIDENCE - A new national report shows Rhode Island has the fourth-lowest overall obesity rate in the country, 21.7 percent, but it's doing far worse with kids, with 30.1 percent of children ages 10 to 17 either obese or overweight, No. 29 in the nation.

The figures come from "Fat: How Obesity Policies Are Failing in America 2009," a new report by the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
