Louisiana gets 8 or 10 on emergency preparedness

Louisiana is more prepared for emergencies than it was a year ago, a national health organization reports. The Trust for America's Health gave Louisiana eight marks out of 10, up from six last year. "We've made great strides since hurricanes Katrina and Rita," state health secretary Roxane Townsend said Wednesday. The hurricanes damaged both the health care system and emergency response, she said.
