Study finds conclusive link between obesity, cancer

We knew that overweight people are much more likely to develop heart disease. Now we know, conclusively, that they're more likely to develop cancer as well, according to a recent landmark study. In fact, news accounts suggest researchers were surprised that the evidence was so definitive. These findings are a particular concern in South Carolina, which has been deemed one of the fattest states in the nation, according to the Trust for America's Health. Almost 28 percent of adults are considered obese in South Carolina. About two-thirds of South Carolinians are merely overweight.
