Pursuing Opportunities in a Healthy Industry

A recent report from the Trust for America's Health said that 40 states are suffering a shortage of trained nurses. "We can have lots of hospital beds, but if we don't have workers to take care of patients in those beds, we are still in a pretty bad state," said Jeff Levi, director of the trust, a non-profit group that advocates for public health measures. Conversely, low-skilled health-care jobs, especially in nursing homes, pay very little. Some may offer not much more than the minimum wage.
