Medicare Costs to Go Up as Obese Americans Age

The biggest Americans have the biggest medical bills. That's the conclusion of researchers who found that annual Medicare costs for older adults who were severely obese in middle age nearly doubled those of people who were not overweight when younger... A recent report by Trust for America's Health, a nonprofit that studies public health issues, noted the state is just one of four to set nutritional standards for foods sold in schools, including vending machines.
