Cancer Group's Forum Brings Concerned Residents Together

SIERRA VISTA - About 60 people gathered at Buena High School Saturday evening for a special forum about the area's childhood leukemia cluster... ...Anna Dillingham represented Trust for American's Health, a public health advocacy organization committed to making disease prevention a national priority. Dillingham traveled from the Washington D.C. area to talk about the need for more effective disease prevention. She talked about the need for a nationwide health tracking network to monitor chronic diseases and cancers and information about environmental and hazardous exposures. "This information would go across county lines, across state lines," she said. "It would allow us to look a patterns and see what kinds of exposures are linked to certain health issues. We're not tracking this information in a comprehensive way."
